The work itself is the same kind of work across the metro — evaluation, drainage, structural repair, finish — but the paperwork and the housing stock change from place to place. Below is what we know by parish, and what to check before work starts. For how the repair itself is approached, see foundation repair in Baton Rouge.
Housing stock across the metro
Most Baton Rouge-area housing is slab-on-grade. Pre-1960s housing stock is often pier-and-beam. That matters because the two are repaired differently: a slab is stabilized and lifted from below, while a raised house is usually leveled from the crawlspace. The house leveling page explains why “leveling” means two different jobs here.
